How To Remove Curly Quotes In WordPress

Lot of word processor programs converts all your simple quotes to curly quotes (smart quotes). WordPress also coverts your simple quotes to curly quotes in your posts, excerpts and comments. This feature is pretty useful if you’re running a quote website, but we are not.

If your WordPress is fill of quotes, then you’d hate this feature. So, if anyone is copying a snippet with curly quotes from your post would have problems with the code in their blogs or text file. However, it’s really easy to disable this feature with a three lines of codes. We just have to remove curly quotes filters from your WordPress

Just add following snippet to your functions.php file:

remove_filter('the_content', 'wptexturize');
remove_filter('comment_text', 'wptexturize');
remove_filter('the_excerpt', 'wptexturize');
